Manhattan stages 2nd half comeback to top Quinnipiac, 84-77

NEW YORK (AP) Zane Waterman scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Manhattan converted 7 of 9 shots from the line in the final minute to hold off Quinnipiac, 84-77 in a Metro Atlantic battle Thursday night.

In the six-game series history, both teams came into Thursday's game with 377 cumulative points. With the win, the Jaspers evened the series at 3-3.

Quinnipiac got off to a fast start and cruised into the break with a nine-point advantage, 40-31. Manhattan got the fast start in the second half, scoring the first eight points to make it 40-39 barely two minutes into the period.

Donovan Smith dunked with 1:21 left to pull the Bobcats within three, 78-75, but they did not score again until Dimitri Floras' layup with a second left.

Calvin Crawford and Rich Williams each scored 18 points for Manhattan (10-12, 7-6).

Daniel Harris paced Quinnipiac (8-15, 5-9) with 16 points.
