UAB downs Southern Miss 80-77 in 2OT

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) Chris Cokley scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Alabama-Birmingham past Southern Miss 80-77 in double overtime on Thursday night for its fourth straight win.

William Lee scored 15 points for the Blazers (21-4, 11-1 Conference USA) and his dunk put UAB up 75-73 early in the second overtime.

Cokley's jumper gave the Blazers a four-point edge, but Khari Price hit a jumper, then hit another after Lee dunked again and the Golden Eagles trailed 79-77 with 1:14 left.

Hakeem Baxter's free throw made it 80-77 UAB and Price missed a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left.

Nick Norton scored 14 for UAB, and his layup tied it at 73 at the end of the first overtime. Robert Brown added 13 points and the Blazers shot 48.4 percent from the field.

Kourtlin Jackson led the Golden Eagles (7-15, 4-7) with 19 points. Price had 16 points with a career-high 12 assists.
