North Carolina A&T holds off Florida A&M 75-68

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Sam Hunt scored 18 points and made all eight of his free throw attempts to lead North Carolina A&T to a 75-68 win over Florida A&M on Saturday.

Ede Egharevba scored 13 points, Ahmad Abdullah added 12 and the Aggies (8-18, 5-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) shot 34 percent from the field but made 39 of 48 free throws, led by Bruce Beckford's eight.

Trailing 39-27 at halftime, the Rattlers gained ground on a 13-7 run and pulled to within 46-40 on Malcolm Bernard's free throw with 9:42 to play.

Abdullah hit a 3-pointer and the Aggies pulled away, but the Rattlers closed to within eight, 68-60 after Justin Ravenel hit back-to-back 3s.

The Aggies began fouling and FAMU made seven free throws in the final 37 seconds to hang on.

Ravenel led FAMU (7-16, 3-7) with 16 points and five 3-pointers, Francois Lewis added 14 and Bernard had 12 points with four assists.
