Tenn. Tech makes FTs with 0.7 left, beats Jacksonville State
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Torrance Rowe was fouled with 0.7 left, and made two free throws to end the game and give Tennessee Tech a 72-70 victory over Jacksonville State on Saturday night.
A 13-5 spurt pulled Jacksonville State to 70-67 with 1:34 remaining. The Golden Eagles then missed two shots and had a turnover before Greg Tucker hit a 3-pointer to tie it a 70 with seven seconds to go. But DelFincko Bogan then fouled Rowe on a 3-point attempt.
Ryan Martin scored 16 points, and Hakeem Rogers and Mason Ramsey added 15 points apiece for Tennessee Tech (18-8, 10-3 Ohio Valley), which is 13-0 at home. Rowe finished with 10 points.
Tucker had 26 points to lead Jacksonville State (8-20, 4-9).
Rogers made three 3-pointers and Martin added 10 points as part of a 24-7 run and Tennessee Tech led 65-54 with six minutes to play.
