Balanced attack helps Montana State top Southern Utah 80-73

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) Tyler Hall scored 14 points, leading a balanced scoring attack as Montana State beat Southern Utah 80-73 on Saturday.

The Bobcats led by 14 at halftime and maintained a double-digit lead for most of the second half. But after Sarp Gobeloglu's 3-pointer extended the lead to 64-52 win 3:51 left, Montana State missed seven free throws, committed four fouls and had two turnovers over the next two minutes, and Southern Utah cut the deficit to 73-70.

James McGee and Christian Thompson missed 3-point attempts in the final 13 seconds as Southern Utah lost its eighth straight contest.

Gobeloglu finished with 13 points, Zach Green and Quinton Everett had 12 apiece and Marcus Colbert 11 with nine assists for Montana State (12-13, 7-6 Big Sky). Hall and Gobeloglu each hit three 3-pointers.

John Marshall had 21 points and six rebounds for the Thunderbirds (4-19, 2-11).
