Saunders with 24 as Wagner rolls to 79-55 win over Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) Romone Saunders scored a career-high 24 points as Wagner rolled to a 79-55 win over Bryant on Saturday.

Saunders was 8 of 12 from the field including seven 3-pointers for the Seahawks (16-9, 9-5 Northeast Conference). Mike Aaman added 13 points, Aaren Edmead had 11 points and JoJo Cooper had a game-high 11 assists. Wagner had a 36-26 rebounding edge over Bryant.

Saunders scored nine points - including a pair of 3-pointers - as part of a 17-3 start for the Seahawks on their way to a 37-29 lead at the break. They led throughout the entire game.

Edmead sank a 3-pointer early in the second half to make it 51-37 with 15:05 to play and Saunders hit two more back-to-back to extend the Seahawks' lead to 61-47 with 9:01 remaining.

Hunter Ware scored 21 points for the Bulldogs (7-20, 4-10), who have lost nine straight.
