LIU Brooklyn beats rival St. Francis Brooklyn 82-67

NEW YORK (AP) Martin Hermannsson had 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals to help LIU Brooklyn beat rival St. Francis Brooklyn 82-67 on Monday.

St. Francis Brooklyn pulled within 54-46 with 11:43 remaining but LIU Brooklyn scored the next six points and led by double digits the rest of the way.

Joel Hernandez and Jerome Frink each had 15 points for LIU Brooklyn (13-12, 7-7 Northeast Conference). Aakim Saintil added 11 points and eight assists for the Blackbirds, who avenged a 64-49 loss - their lowest point total of the season - to the Terriers on Jan. 23

Iverson Fleming and Hermannsson combined for nine points during a 9-2 run to give LIU Brooklyn a 39-24 lead late in the first half. The Blackbirds were ahead by 12 points at the break.

Chris Hooper led a balanced St. Francis Brooklyn (11-16, 7-7) attack with 15 points. Yunus Hopkinson added 13 points and Antonio Jenifer had 12 points and eight rebounds.
