Rhode Island OT Tyler Catalina to play for Georgia as graduate transfer
Rhode Island offensive tackle Tyler Catalina will join Georgia as a graduate transfer next season, he announced Monday on Twitter.
“After much thought and conversation with my family, I have decided to decommit from Iowa State and have decided I will be playing my final year at the University of Georgia,” Catalina wrote.
Catalina, a three-year starter with the Rams of the FCS, had reportedly signed financial aid papers with the Cyclones before decommitting. He also garnered interest from Auburn, Florida and Texas A&M.
The 2015 second team All-CAA selection will likely join head coach Kirby Smart’s squad as a left or right tackle.
