SE Louisiana beats McNeese State 79-76 in OT

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) Zay Jackson had 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists on Monday night and Southeastern Louisiana held on in overtime to beat McNeese State 79-76.

Moses Greenwood scored the go-ahead basket to make it 78-76 with 1:08 left in overtime. Jarren Greenwood missed a 17-foot jumper off the front of the rim with seven seconds left that would have tied it for McNeese State.

The Cowboys sent JaMichael Hawkins, who corralled the rebound, to the foul line with 3.7 seconds left. He missed the first and made the second to cap the scoring. James Harvey missed a 25-footer from the right wing as time expired.

Jordan Capps added 11 points with a career-high 16 rebounds and Hawkins scored 12 for the Lions (7-18, 5-7 Southland).

Jamaya Burr scored 21 for McNeese State (6-17, 4-9) including a driving floater at the end of regulation that forced overtime. Matthew Moss added 13 points, Harvey 12 and Austin Lewis 10.
