Butler's 13 3s keys 88-75 win over Creighton

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Kelan Martin had 21 points and eight rebounds, senior Austin Etherington scored a career-high 17 and Butler beat Creighton 88-75 Tuesday night.

Martin and Etherington each hit four of Butler's 13 3-pointers as the Bulldogs made 48 percent from distance.

Creighton was within 63-58 with 8:13 left but the Bluejays did not make another field goal for nearly three minutes and trailed 71-60 after Butler's 8-2 run. Andrew Chrabascz hit a wide open 3-pointer, off an assist from Kellen Dunham, to extend Butler's lead to 79-66 with three minutes left.

Dunham finished with 16 points, Roosevelt Jones had 12 and Tyler Wideman 10 with four blocks for Butler (18-8, 7-7 Big East).

Etherington and Dunham combined for three 3-pointers on three-straight Butler possessions for a 47-37 lead - its first double-digit advantage - early in the second half.

Maurice Watson Jr. paced Creighton (17-10, 8-6) with 22 points and six assists.
