Army defeats Holy Cross 72-68 behind Ferguson's 25 points

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) Kevin Ferguson scored a career-high 25 points on 12-for-16 shooting and corralled 13 rebounds to lead Army past Holy Cross 72-68 Wednesday night.

Army (16-11, 7-8 Patriot League) got 19 points and three blocked from Kyle Wilson, who was 4 for 6 from the free-throw line in the final 30 seconds to hold off Holy Cross (10-16, 5-10).

Dylan Cox, who scored 10 points, hit a layup to give the Black Knights a 63-59 lead with 2:43 remaining. The Crusaders' Robert Champion made two free throws before Ferguson hit a layup, and Tyler Plomb's jumper with 1:22 to play pushed the lead to six.

Champion made two more free throws, and Cox made 1 of 2 at the line to make it 68-63 with 43 seconds to go.

Malachi Alexander made a 3 to make it 68-66 with 36 seconds left before Wilson closed it out.

Alexander and Cullen Hamilton each scored 17 to lead the Crusaders.
