The Tennessee athletic department told the Associated Press that Johnson had been suspended after the team became aware of the incident, but did not provide further detail.

Johnson, who is listed on the Tennessee roster at 6'4", 295 pounds, has not yet appeared in a game for the Volunteers after transferring from Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College in December. In two years at Fort Scott, Johnson logged 87 total tackles and 25.6 tackles for loss, with 8.5 sacks his sophomore season.
