Brownridge scores 26, Santa Clara beats LMU 76-72

LOS ANGELES (AP) Jared Brownridge had 26 points and made a pair of free throws with four seconds left to help Santa Clara beat Loyola Marymount 76-72 on Thursday night.

KJ Feagin added 14 points for the Broncos (10-17, 6-9 West Coast Conference), who pulled away with a 9-0 run to lead 62-53 with 7:07 left. Brownridge had 23 points after the break - 16 coming in the first 7:16 which pulled Santa Clara even after trailing by six early in the half.

Steven Haney's three 3-pointers in the final 5:02 rallied the Lions (11-16, 4-12). His third 3, a contested fadeaway from the right corner, cut the LMU deficit to 73-72 with 23 seconds left.

Haney finished with 17 points, Brandon Brown scored 20, Shamar Johnson added 13 and Marin Mornar 11.

Loyola Marymount's leading scorer and rebounder, Adom Jacko, missed his second straight game due to a back injury.
