CS Northridge slips past Cal Poly in OT, 75-71

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) Kendall Smith, Aaron Parks and Micheal Warren each hit a pair of free throws in the final minute and Cal State Northridge held off Cal Poly 75-71 in overtime Saturday night.

Warren scored on a layup with 3:14 left in regulation to give the Matadors a 59-53 lead, but Josh Martin drained a 3-pointer to halve the lead and Joel Awich dunked to get the Mustangs within one. Tavrion Dawson scored a layup with 46 seconds left to make it 61-58, but Reese Morgan hit a 3-pointer with 31 seconds left in regulation to pull Cal Poly even at 61 and force the extra period.

Jerron Wilbut scored 18 points to lead CS Northridge (10-17, 5-8 Big West). Parks added 15 points and Smith 12.

Morgan scored 23 points to help pace Cal Poly (10-16, 4-9). Martin added 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
