Binghamton beats UMass Lowell 81-77 to sweep season series

VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) Marlon Beck II scored 14 points and Timmy Rose 13 and Binghamton swept the season series from UMass Lowell with an 81-77 victory on Saturday.

The Bearcats (7-20, 4-10 America East) took the lead from the start and led by 12 with 3:48 to go when the River Hawks cut it to two, 79-77, with 10 seconds left after Rose missed two free throws and Isaac White hit a 3-pointer. But Beck made a pair of free throws before Matt Harris missed a hurried 3-pointer.

Thomas Bruce, Willie Rodriguez and Bobby Ahearn scored 11 points each for Binghamton, which scored 24 points off 13 River Hawks turnovers. The Bearcats beat the River Hawks at UMass Lowell 64-57 on Jan. 24.

White hit five 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for UMass Lowell (11-17, 7-8). Jahad Thomas added 14 points, Logan Primerano 12 and Ryan Jones 11.
