North Carolina Central beats Morgan State 73-59

BALTIMORE (AP) Dante Holmes scored 18 points with nine rebounds and six assists as North Carolina Central beat Morgan State 73-59 on Saturday.

Holmes was 6 of 16 from the field including three 3-pointers for the Eagles (11-16, 6-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Patrick Cole added 14 points, Jeremiah Ingram had 11 and Kyle Benton 10. The team hit 51 percent from the field overall, 48 percent from the line and were 6 of 15 (40 percent) from distance.

Morgan State hit 34 percent from the field, 88 percent from the line and was 0 for 11 from beyond the 3-point arc.

NCCU led 41-25 at the break and outscored Morgan State 34-32 in the second half for the win.

Cedric Blossom scored 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds for the Bears (5-20, 3-9) who have lost five straight.
