Taylor scores 23, Marshall beats Old Dominion 82-65

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (AP) Ryan Taylor scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Marshall beat Old Dominion 82-65 on Saturday night for their fourth-straight win and a sweep of the season series against the Monarchs.

James Kelly scored 18 points and blocked two shots, Stevie Browning added 18 and Jon Elmore had 10 assists for the Thundering Herd (15-12, 11-3 Conference USA), which made 10 of 25 from long distance and shot 50 percent from the field.

Up by eight at halftime, Marshall pulled to a 10-point lead, 48-38, on Kelly's alley-oop dunk on Elmore's assist, then Browning fed Kelly on another alley-oop for a 50-42 lead, firing up the crowd.

C.J. Burks' 3-pointer sparked a 15-6 run and Marshall led by 15, 75-60, after Browning hit a pair of free throws with 3:57 left and continued to pull away.

Trey Freeman scored 20 points and Brandan Stith added 18 for the Monarchs (15-12, 8-6), who lost to Marshall 78-75 on Jan. 23.
