Pepperdine pulls away, beats Santa Clara 88-76

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) Lamond Murray Jr. had 25 points, Stacy Davis added 20 points and 10 rebounds and Pepperdine used a second-half run to pull away from Santa Clara, 88-76 on Saturday night.

The Waves (17-11, 10-7 West Coast Conference) trailed briefly in the second half but rallied with a 12-0 run over 2:14 to lead 68-57 on Amadi Udenyi's 3-point play with 7:50 left. The Broncos (10-18, 6-10) pulled within six for the third time within a minute at 79-73. Udenyi then had what looked like an attempted alley-oop lob go in for a 3-pointer at 2:20 and Murray iced it with a jumper at 84-73 with 1:50 left.

Jett Raines added 15 points, Jeremy Major scored 11 and Udenyi chipped in six points and a career-best 10 assists.

Jared Brownridge had 26 points and five assists to lead the Broncos. KJ Feagin added 14 points and Matt Hubbard scored 11.
