Perry nets career-high 28, Alabama A&M beats Southern 78-66

NORMAL, Ala. (AP) Jacob Perry hit 10 of 14 from the field, including four 3-pointers, and finished with a career-high 28 points to help Alabama A&M beat Southern 78-66 Monday night.

Ladarius Tabb had 20 points and seven rebounds, while Quinterian McConico added 10 and nine for Alabama A&M, which snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Bulldogs (9-14, 5-9 Southwestern Athletic Conference) shot a season-high 50.9 percent (28 of 55) from the field, including 8 of 19 from behind the arc, and outrebounded Southern 34-25.

Adrian Rodgers led the Jaguars (18-10, 10-5) with 18 points and Christopher Hyder added 15.

Southern shot nearly 43 percent from the field, but made only 4 of 19 (21 percent) from 3-point range and hit 16 of 29 (55.2 percent) from the free throw line.

After an eight-game win streak, the Jaguars have lost three of their last five.
