Bucknell escapes Lafayette in 2OT, 86-83

EASTON, Pa. (AP) Chris Hass had 15 of his 30 points after the end of regulation and Bucknell escaped Lafayette on Wednesday night with an 86-83 win in double overtime.

Hass scored the Bison's first nine points of the second overtime capped by a pair of free throws that gave Bucknell (16-12, 13-4 Patriot League) the lead for good with 1:27 left at 82-80.

Bucknell still led by two when Hass missed a jumper near the end of the shot clock with 43 seconds left, but Dom Hoffman's offensive rebound allowed the Bison to use another 25 seconds before Stephen Brown's layup made it 84-80 with 18 seconds left. Brown added 16 points for Bucknell.

Zach Rufer's 3-pointer pulled Lafayette (5-23, 2-15) within one with nine seconds left, Hass made two more free throws and Bryce Scott's 3-point attempt for the Leopards missed in the final seconds.

Rufer led Lafayette with 20 points.
