Austin Peay downs SIU-Edwardsville 80-75

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) Josh Robinson made three 3-pointers and finished with 22 points to lead Austin Peay to an 80-75 over SIU-Edwardsville on Thursday night, but their hopes for the No. 8 seed in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament remain in the balance.

Eighth-place Eastern Kentucky beat Jacksonville State 76-54 on Thursday night and the Governors must finish ahead of the Colonels as EKU holds the tiebreaker, having beaten APSU in the teams' only meeting this season.

Austin Peay plays Saturday against Southeast Missouri while EKU plays Tennessee Tech.

Khalil Davis scored 18 points against SIU-Edwardsville, Chris Horton added 15 and Jared Savage had 11 for the Governors (13-17, 6-9).

The Cougars pulled to within 66-63 on Carlos Anderson's layup with 5:16 left in the second half, but the Governors pulled away on Robinson's layup and Savage and Zach Glotta combined for seven free throws in the final 51 seconds.

Jake Newton led the Cougars (6-22, 3-13) with 17 points in their season finale.
