Cal State Fullerton rallies to beat Cal Poly 78-77

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) Tre Coggins hit four 3-pointers and scored 18 points, including a key pair of free throws with nine seconds to play, and Cal State Fullerton rallied to beat Cal Poly 78-77 on Thursday night to end a five-game skid.

Malcom Brooks hit two free throws and Cal State Fullerton led 76-71 with 57 seconds left, but Reese Morgan hit a 3-pointer to pull the Mustangs within 76-74 with 10 seconds to go.

Coggins was fouled and made both free throws to make it a two-possession game, but Jaylen Shead hit a 3 and the Mustangs trailed 78-77 with four seconds left. Joel Awich missed a jumper at the buzzer and the Titans hung on.

Khalil Ahmad scored 16 and Brooks added 15 for the Titans (10-17, 3-11 Big West), who trailed 37-35 at halftime and pulled ahead for good 71-68 on Coggins' 3-pointer with 3:01 left.

Morgan hit six 3-pointers and scored 22 points for Cal Poly (10-17, 4-10).
