Ford hits late FTs, Northeastern beats Charleston 58-57

BOSTON (AP) Quincy Ford made two free throws with four seconds left to give Northeastern a 58-57 victory over College of Charleston on Thursday night.

Cameron Johnson heaved a 3-point shot as time expired but failed to connect.

Ford nailed a trey for a 56-51 lead with 1:57 remaining. Charleston's Jarrell Brantley made two free throws and then Johnson hit two straight jumpers to give the Cougars a 57-56 lead with 23 seconds left. Evan Bailey fouled Ford and he calmly sank both free throws for the win.

Zach Stahl led Northeastern (16-14, 8-9 Colonial) with 15 points to total 1,001 for his career. Caleb Donnelly added 12 and Jeremy Miller chipped in 10. Ford finished with nine points and nine rebounds.

Brantley had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Charleston (16-12, 8-9). Johnson finished with 13 points and Payton Hulsey added 12 and grabbed nine boards.
