PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) Steven Cook and Henry Caruso both hit 8-of-11 shots and combined for 44 points to lead hot-shooting Princeton to an 88-83 win over Columbia on Friday night.
Cooke hit five 3-pointers and Spencer Weisz, who had 16 points, hit four as the Tigers (19-5, 9-1 Ivy League), who remain a half-game behind Yale, made 13 of 21 behind the arc and shot 63 percent (31 of 49) overall in winning their seventh-straight game. Even a Princeton student hit a half-court shot at halftime to win $1,000.
Earlier in the streak the Tigers won at Columbia by the exact same score in overtime but had to rally from five down with 29 seconds left.
Maodo Lo led the Lions (19-9, 8-3) with 20 points and Isaac Cohen had 19. Cohen was 9 of 11 from the field as Columbia shot 53 percent (31 of 58) but was only 4 of 12 behind the arc.
Princeton led 42-33 at the half, shooting 67 percent to 39 for the Tigers, pushed the margin to 16 and stayed comfortably ahead.
