James Madison beats William & Mary 71-65

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) Ron Curry scored 21 points as James Madison beat William & Mary 71-65 on Saturday in a regular season finale for both teams.

Yohanny Dalembert added 18 points and six rebounds and Jackson Kent had 10 points and six rebounds for the Dukes (21-10, 11-7 Colonial Athletic Association). The win opens the door to a third-seed position for the team in next week's CAA tournament.

After trailing 15-6 early in the first half, the Dukes surged 14-3 to go up 20-18 with 11 minutes left and they held on for a 36-30 lead at the break.

James Madison led throughout the second half. William & Mary closed the gap to 64-62 with 50 seconds to play but a 3-pointer by Joey McClean and three free throws by Curry kept the Dukes on top.

Omar Prewitt scored 17 points and Sean Sheldon and David Cohn 13 apiece for the Tribe (19-10, 11-7).
