Youngstown State defeats Northern Kentucky 94-75 in finale

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) Cameron Morse scored 25 points to lead five players in double figures as Youngstown State ended the regular season with a 94-75 defeat of Northern Kentucky on Saturday night, avenging an earlier loss to the Norse.

A Morse 3-pointer propelled the Penguins to a 16-14 lead, sparking an 11-0 run that built a 27-14 lead three minutes later. Youngstown State (11-20. 6-12 Horizon) went on to a 46-27 halftime lead.

Northern Kentucky fought to within 58-53 on a Deontae Cole 3-pointer with 11 minutes remaining, but no closer.

Jordan Andrews added 17 points, Sidney Umude 16, Matt Donlan and Francisco Santiago 15 each for the Penguins. Santiago also had eight assists.

Cole Murray led the Norse (9-20, 5-13) with 12 points.

Youngstown State earned the No. 7 seed into the Horizon League tournament. Northern Kentucky is the eighth seed.

The Norse defeated Youngstown State for the first time in Horizon play Jan. 14.
