Bethune-Cookman beats North Carolina A&T 62-52

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) Mario Moody had 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting with three blocks and Bethune-Cookman beat North Carolina A&T 62-52 in the Wildcats' home finale on Monday night.

Ricky Johnson scored six straight to make it 62-50 with 38 seconds left and the Wildcats (14-16, 10-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) held on from there.

LaRon Smith and Johnson had 11 points each for Bethune-Cookman, which visits South Carolina State on Thursday to conclude the regular season.

North Carolina A&T (9-21, 6-9) trailed by 16 with 7:05 left and scored 10 straight to get within 56-50 before Johnson helped the Wildcats put it away.

Bruce Beckford had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Sam Hunt scored 13, and Ahmad Abdullah and Denzel Keyes added 10 each for the Aggies.

Bethune-Cookman never trailed after a 13-0 run early in the first half. N.C. A&T tied it late in the half but trailed 29-28 at the break.
