Woods has 30 points, Arkansas-Little Rock beats Arkansas St.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Roger Woods had a career-high 30 points as Arkansas-Little Rock picked up a record-breaking 27th win, beating Arkansas State 89-80 on Tuesday night.

The Trojans, who had 26 wins in the 1986-87 season, also had their highest point total against a Div. I program this year.

Arkansas-Little Rock (27-3, 17-2), which has the best record in the nation, already clinched the regular-season Sun Belt title and concludes its regular schedule against Appalachian State on Thursday.

Woods was 11 of 15 from the floor, Marcus Johnson Jr. had 17 points and Josh Hagins chipped in 15 points with seven assists.

The Trojans never trailed and were up 48-38 at the break. They pushed the lead to 60-48 with 15:49 left. The Red Wolves closed to 86-78 with 2:04 remaining but could get no closer.

Devin Carter led Arkansas State (11-18, 7-11) with 22 and Anthony Livingston added 18 points and 22 rebounds.
