Wilder, Haymond lead Western Michigan past Toledo 70-64

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) Thomas Wilder scored 18 points and Tucker Haymond added 18 more off the bench as Western Michigan came on late to defeat Toledo 70-64 on Tuesday night.

Western Michigan (12-18, 6-11 Mid-American) was trailing by six points with less than nine minutes to play when the Broncs started to rally. Wilder scored on a layup with 5:45 left for a 57-56 lead and Haymond added a 3-point play a minute later, stretching the lead to 62-58. Wilder hit a key 3 that made it 65-60 with 2:38 left and the Broncos held on at the foul line.

The Rockets (17-13, 8-9) were hurt by foul trouble and turnovers - called for 24 fouls and turning the ball over a season-worst 23 times.

Toledo starters Nathan Boothe, Zach Garber and Jaelan Sanford each had four fouls with more than 12 minutes remaining.

Jonathan Williams led the Rockets with 21 points, Boothe added 19.
