The University of Florida will start selling alcohol at football and men’s basketball games next season, the school announced Wednesday.

According to SEC rules, alcohol cannot be sold to the general public at games. However, beer and wine will be available to Florida fans in premium seating.

“Providing alcohol in our premium seating areas for both football and men’s basketball was another amenity we wanted to provide to the fans in those areas,” Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said in a statement.

The decision makes Florida just the sixth SEC school to sell alcohol at football games, and the fourth to sell it at men’s basketball games.

Alcohol will be served until the start of the third quarter during football games and until the start of the second half at basketball games. It will not be permitted in the general seating area.
