Long Beach St beats Cal St Fullerton on Bibbins layup

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) Nick Faust scored 30 points, Justin Bibbins made a layup at the buzzer, and Long Beach State earned the season sweep over rival Cal State Fullerton with a 75-73 win on Wednesday night.

Long Beach State (17-13, 11-4 Big West) has won eight of its last nine games.

The teams battled back-and-forth throughout the second half, with neither side commanding more than a five-point lead. Gabe Levin made a layup for a 73-69 49ers lead with 1:08 to play. Jamar Akoh trimmed the lead to 73-71 with a dunk for the Titans (10-19, 3-13), and then Khalil Ahmad tied it after two free throws with six seconds left. However on the next possession, Bibbins sealed a 49ers win with a layup as time expired.

Bibbins finished with 14 points and added five steals.

Akoh led Cal State Fullerton with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Ahmad added 18 points and eight boards.
