Mount St. Mary's upends St. Francis Brooklyn 60-51

NEW YORK (AP) BK Ashe scored 18 points with seven rebounds to help rally fifth-seeded Mount St. Mary's in the second half to upend No. 4 seed St. Francis Brooklyn 60-51 in the Northeast Conference tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

The Mountaineers (14-18) trailed 42-39 with just under 10 minutes to play when Ashe hit a 3-pointer followed by two layups to put them on top 46-44 with 7:16 remaining. St. Francis' Tyreek Jewell sank a 3 to cut the lead to 49-48 with 4:26 left but Ashe responded with two jumpers and Elijah Long sank four free throws in the stretch to keep the Mountaineers on top.

The win sends Mount St. Mary's to play at No. 2 seed Fairleigh Dickinson in the NEC semifinals on Saturday.

Long finished with 11 points and four rebounds for the Mountaineers who trailed 34-24 at halftime.

Yunus Hopkinson scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Terriers (15-17) who committed 16 turnovers during the game.
