Manhattan gives Masiello 4-year extension

NEW YORK (AP) Manhattan College and Steve Masiello have agreed to a four-year contract extension through 2019-20, the school announced Thursday.

Masiello, who is in his fifth season at Manhattan, led the Jaspers to the last two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships and the NCAA Tournament. All of his four-year players have graduated.

After the 2013-14 season Masiello agreed to become the coach at South Florida. Then it came to light Masiello never received a degree at Kentucky and the job offer was rescinded.

Manhattan allowed Masiello to return to his position after he earned the degree. Masiello has a 91-69 record, including 12-17 this season. The Jaspers are the sixth seed in the MAAC Tournament.
