Forte, Pineiro lead Portland St. past Northern Arizona 89-81

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Cameron Forte had 20 points, 15 boards and 10 assists, Isaiah Pineiro had a career-high 31 points and 12 rebounds and Portland State beat Northern Arizona 89-81 Thursday night.

Forte's triple-double was the first in Portland State (11-17, 7-10 Big Sky Conference) history. Pineiro shot 12 for 19 from the field and 6 for 9 from the free-throw line.

Kris Yanku led Northern Arizona (5-23, 3-14) with a career-high 32 points on 13-for-19 shooting from the field. Ako Kaluna added 18 boards and 17 points for NAU.

The Lumberjacks went on a late 21-9 run to close to the gap but ran out of time.

Mike Green's 3 gave the Lumberjacks their last lead of the game at 17-15 with 12:05 remaining before halftime. Calaen Robinson's layup a little more than five minutes later capped a 10-0 Vikings run and they never looked back.

A 39-29 halftime lead swelled to 70-43 when Pineiro made 1 of 2 free throws with 9:48 left.
