Louisiana Tech and Marshall came into Thursday night’s game tied in the Conference USA standings, and the Bulldogs got one step closer to securing the No. 2 seed thanks to a halfcourt buzzer beater.

Louisiana Tech and Marshall came into Thursday night’s game tied in the Conference USA standings, and the Bulldogs got one step closer to securing the No. 2 seed thanks to a halfcourt buzzer beater.

With the score tied at 94, Louisiana Tech guard Derric Jean raced to the center of the court with time expiring. The freshman then launched a high-arching shot that found its way into the hoop just after the buzzer.

Jean’s finished with 10 points off the bench in the shootout. Senior guard Alex Hamilton was the reason the Bulldogs were in the game, however, scoring 38 points on 12-of-17 shooting.
