UNC Wilmington holds off Northeastern 73-70

BALTIMORE (AP) Chris Flemmings scored 21 points with four 3-pointers and second-seeded UNC Wilmington beat No. 6-seed Northeastern 73-70 in a Colonial Athletic Association semifinal on Sunday.

The Seahawks (24-7) will face top-seeded Hofstra (24-8), a winner over William & Mary earlier in the day, in the title game on Monday.

UNC Wilmington broke open a close game with a 16-2 run early in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers by Flemmings, to led 55-42 midway through the second half.

Northeastern made a furious charge late, coming from 10 down with 1:14 left to trail by one after Quincy Ford's tip-in with 14 seconds to go. Denzel Ingram (14 points) made a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left, and Flemmings added one more with one second left to ice it.

Ford led Northeastern (18-15) with 21 points. T.J. Williams and David Walker added 16 points each.

Walker, a senior who extended his school-record consecutive games played streak to 133, hit two 3-pointers and is five shy of Northeastern's school record of 255.
