Northeastern bounces Towson from CAA tourney 71-60

BALTIMORE (AP) Quincy Ford scored 20 points and sixth-seeded Northeastern knocked off No. 3-seed Towson 71-60 in a Colonial Athletic Conference quarterfinal on Saturday.

The Huskies (18-14) will face second-seeded UNC Wilmington (23-7), winners over Charleston earlier in the day, in the semifinals on Sunday.

Ford was 7 of 14 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds. David Walker scored 18 points with six assists.

Towson (20-12) was led by William Adala Moto with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Mike Morsell scored 16 points and Timajh Parker-Rivera had 11 boards with seven points.

Towson led by three at intermission and it was back-and-forth early in the second. Northeastern led 41-40 at 15:20, and then went on an 11-4 run over nearly four minutes.

Towson got within six with 1:58 to go, but Northeastern made 8 of 10 from the line to seal it.
