George Mason outlasts Richmond 83-73

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) Otis Livingston II was perfect on five 3-pointers and scored 21 points, Shevon Thompson tallied 16 points and 17 rebounds, and George Mason erupted for 54 points in the second half to topple Richmond 83-73 on Saturday.

Marko Gujanicic added 15 points and nine boards for George Mason (11-20, 5-13 Atlantic 10), which set a season high with 55 rebounds. The Patriots entered averaging 41.7 rebounds, seventh best in the country.

Tied 29-all at intermission, George Mason used a 22-4 run to separate itself and led 77-54 after a Julian Royal layup with 2:17 left.

Richmond got within nine on a John Moran 3-pointer with 0:37 left, and he hit another 26 seconds later to cut it to eight, but it was too little, too late.

T.J. Cline led the Spiders (15-15, 7-11) with 23 points, and Khwan Fore had 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting.
