Stanford has fired coach Johnny Dawkins, reports Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

The Cardinal were not selected for the NCAA tournament or the NIT after finishing 15–15 this season. The defending NIT champions were 8–10 in Pac-12 play, but lost their last three games of the regular season each by double digits.

Dawkins joined Stanford in 2008 after 10 years as an assistant at Duke. He led the Cardinal to the NIT three times—winning twice—but only led the program to one NCAA tournament, advancing Stanford to the Sweet Sixteen in 2014.
