Illinois guard Kendrick Nunn was arrested Thursday and charged with domestic battery following a Wednesday night altercation, the Champaign News-Gazette reports.

Nunn was arrested after allegedly striking a woman in her apartment. He turned himself in Thursday following a warrant issued on misdemeanor charges earlier in the day.

According to the report, 911 was called after a loud argument was overheard by neighbors, but Nunn and the woman told police nothing happened. She later called police and said something did happen between them.

“She said they were arguing about their relationship and whether or not she owed him money and at some point he did push her and strike her in the back of the head. During the physical part of the altercation is when Champaign police showed up,” first assistant state's attorney Steve Ziegler told the News-Gazette.

Illinois guard Tate arrested for domestic battery

Nunn is the second Illinois player arrested for domestic battery in the past seven days: Illini and former high school teammate Jaylon Tate was arrested last week. Four Illinois players have been arrested dating to August, when forward Darius Paul was arrested in France and subsequently kicked off the team. Forward Leron Black was arrested outside a local night club in February.

Nunn, a junior, averaged 15.5 points and five rebounds per game this season.
