Rutgers has hired Stony Brook head coach Steve Pikiell to replace Eddie Jordan, according to multiplereports.

The news was first reported by Steve Politi of NJ.com.

Pikiell, 48, went 190–155 in 11 seasons at Stony Brook and went 24–6 this season, falling to Kentucky in the NCAA tournament‘s first round. He led the Seawolves to 22 wins in five of the past six seasons. Pikiell starred as a player and captain at UConn from 1987–1991 and began as a coach there under Jim Calhoun.

Jordan was fired following a seven-win season and after three largely unsuccessful years as head coach. Rutgers has won only three games in the Big Ten since joining the conference two seasons ago.
