Purdue freshman forward Caleb Swanigan will declare for the NBA draft, the school announced Tuesday.

Swanigan will enter his name into the pool and be able to work out for teams beginning April 26 and participate in the combine in Chicago May 10–15, if invited. He will not hire an agent and maintain amateur status, allowing him to return to school and withdraw from the draft by May 25.

A 6'9", 250-pound power forward, Swanigan was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team and averaged 10.2 points and 8.3 rebounds this season. The highly-touted recruit helped Purdue to a 26–9 record and an NCAA tournament berth.

Swanigan and senior A.J. Hammons give Purdue two players who will take part in the draft process this season.

Other notable early entries include projected top pick and freshman Ben Simmons from LSU, Providence junior guard Kris Dunn and Florida State freshman Malik Beasley.
