NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Vanderbilt is looking for a new men's basketball coach for the first time since 1999.

The Commodores must replace Kevin Stallings, who was announced Sunday as Pittsburgh's new coach after 17 seasons with Vanderbilt.

Stallings had been the dean of Southeastern Conference coaches since taking over for the 1999-2000 season. He went 332-220, becoming Vanderbilt's winningest coach, but was 19-14 with a NCAA Tournament loss this season.

Athletic director David Williams thanked Stallings for how the coach represented Vanderbilt and led the program for 17 years, which he called a ''remarkable achievement in these times.'' Williams says Stallings always did it ''the right way.''
