TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) Alabama players Justin Coleman and Michael Kessens are leaving the program.

Both announced their decisions to head elsewhere on Twitter Wednesday and coach Avery Johnson later confirmed the moves in a news release.

Coleman started seven games last season and led the team in assists and free throw percentage while averaging 7.8 points.

The sophomore posted that he and coach Avery Johnson agreed that ''it was best to transfer.''

Kessens started 21 games at forward as a junior, averaging 3.7 points and 3.5 rebounds. He sat out the 2013-14 season after transferring from Longwood University.

Kessens is set to graduate this May with a degree in business administration. Johnson said he could either play professionally in Europe or use his fifth year of eligibility at another school.
