Providence has signed coach Ed Cooley to a long-term contract extension, the school announced on Wednesday.

The specifics were not announced, but Cooley said that the deal would keep him on campus for the “for life.”

The Friars appeared in the NCAA tournament for a third straight season after finishing 24–11 in 2015–16. Providence beat USC in the first round before falling to North Carolina in the round of 32.

Cooley has gone 103–67 since arriving in Providence from Fairfield in 2011.
