Alabama defensive back Tony Brown is facing an indefinite suspension from the NCAA, according to The Tuscaloosa News. The university has reportedly appealed.

Brown was sent home before Dec. 31’s Cotton Bowl for violating team rules, and coach Nick Saban elected not to lift the suspension one week later. He acknowledged in March that Brown was still facing other suspensions.

He has participated in each of the Crimson Tide’s eight spring practices.

The 20-year-old is a former five-star recruit who served as a backup in the team’s secondary last year. He also had an active role on special teams. He had 16 tackles on the season, including a team-high eight on special teams during his sophomore year.
