Five-star LB VanDarius Cowan flips from Florida State to Alabama

Five-star linebacker VanDarius Cowan has flipped his commitment from Florida State to Alabama, he tweeted on Friday.

“This was the best fit for me and my family moving forward,” Cowan wrote. “I’d also like to thank all the schools that have offered me, but I will be shutting down my recruitment from here on out.”

Cowan is the No. 2 outside linebacker in the class of 2017 according to Scout.com, and the No. 22 overall recruit. 

Cowan had been committed to Florida State since Dec. 29.
