UNC’s Roy Williams wants to coach five to nine more years

North Carolina coach Roy Williams has told recruits he hopes to coach five to nine more seasons, he said at his end-of-year press conference Tuesday.
The Tar Heels won the ACC regular season and tournament championships in 2015–16. Williams then led North Carolina to the Final Four, where the Tar Heels lost to Villanova in the title game.
“I've said I hope I can coach five to nine more years,” Williams said about his future Tuesday. “That's what I said in a home (recruiting visit) last week. And so that's all I can say.”

Williams has coached at North Carolina, his alma mater, since 2003. Before taking over in Chapel Hill, Williams coached at Kansas for 15 seasons.
In his career, Williams has a 783–209 record. He’s won two national championships as a head coach, both with the Tar Heels.
