Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman was arrested for a sexual assault charge, according to the Waco Police Department.

Oakman, a prospect in the upcoming NFL draft, was taken into custody and transported to jail.

The Waco Tribunereported earlier Thursday that a ‘prominent’ Baylor football player was under investigation for sexual assault.Oakman allegedly sexually assaulted a Baylor student after the two left a nightclub together during the early hours of April 3. In an affidavit drafted by police, Oakman is accused of forcibly removing the alleged victim’s clothes, forcing her onto his bed and sexually assaulting her. Oakman told police the sex was consensual.

The Tribune reports police seized two comforters, a fitted sheet and a flat sheet from Oakman’s bedroom during a search of his apartment the same day of the alleged incident.

Oakman is the third Baylor player to be accused of sexual assault in the last four years. Tevin Elliott and Sam Ukwuachu were both convicted of rape in separate trials in January 2014 and last August, respectively.

Report: Baylor took two years to look into sex assault claim against Elliott

Baylor is currently the subject of a Title IX lawsuit regarding the Elliott case, with his victim accusing the school of being indifferent to her sexual assault claims. Ukwuachu was cleared by a school investigation of any wrongdoing before his conviction in court.

Last fall, Baylor asked a Philadelphia law firm to review its handling of sexual assault cases.
