Miami sophomore running back Mark Walton was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence, the Associated Press reports. He was immediately suspended from the team.

According to the report, Walton is also under investigation for impersonating an officer.

"We are aware of the situation regarding Mark Walton and we have taken immediate action by suspending him from the team," Miami athletic director Blake James said in a statement released by the university.

Police told the AP that other charges were pending.

Walton scored a team-high 10 touchdowns as a freshman last season, also leading the team in kick return yards. He totaled 1,054 all-purpose yards for the Hurricanes.
